Zelda Twilight Princess Tips And Suggestions
As cool as Zelda is, the beginning is rather challenging and boring. After about an hour of figuring things out you finally get to start stabbing monsters and meet Zelda. Since I don’t have a strategy guide, it took me longer to get to the fun part. One of “quests” in the beginning required you to fish for food for a cat, but before that you needed a rod. Before you could get the rod you needed to find a baby’s basket. In that same area you also needed to stop a bull, and take down a bee hive. At first glance it seems quite pointless, but all of these obstacles required you to learn how to navigate Zelda via jumping, swimming, running, and shooting. One of the things I found most difficult was catching a fish. It turns out that the Zelda creators never really went fishing. In the game as soon as your bobber goes down, you need to immediately jerk the rod up until it says you’ve got a fish on. After that you have to continue holding it in the air until it says you caught it. It seems more realistic if you’d have a slower jerk, because in real life that could rip the fish’s mouth, thus causing you to lose the fish. Also you should catch the fish next to the cat, because it will immediately eat it. To get the rod you need to climb up to the man on that grass mound. You then hop to the other mound, and then on to the roof of the house. From there jump on the last possible pillar, where there will be grass to call the hawk. Call the hawk and point him towards the monkey holding on to the basket which is facing the side of the pillar with the grass that you call the hawk with. It will steal the basket from the monkey and give it to you. All you have to do then is give it to the lady. To break the bees nest just call the hawk, and point it at it. You call the hawk from the first pillar, after the one with the man on it. Later in the game you’ll be stuck in a jail cell as a wolf. To get out you need to break the thing in the front right corner of the cell. To do this flick the Wiimote forward which causes the wolf to dash at it. After that you’ll need to dig yourself out. The moves that the wolf can use, are very similar to the moves that Link can do with his sword. From there on out it’s pretty self explanatory, and very fun. However, if you do have trouble with an area, comment and I’ll try and help you out. Have fun!

You need to get a special item first. You need to save the 3 monkeys to get it.

well after i saved the 2 monkeys i get find a room where there are some big eating plants and if i jump over them or at them they eat me! any help about that room?

There is a platform in the room with the plants. You have to get up there, and destroy a rock. There are vines that allow you to get up there. This will lead you to the third monkey.
well tnx m8:) the problem is that i see a big rock but when a jump to there the big plant under me eats me! can u tell me the exact position of the pants?
Hey i blew up one of the plant creatures in one of the rooms. but for some reason i can’t blow up the other. The bomb creature keeps blowing up before it gets to the plant and so i cant go on. Is there a certain way u have to throw it or run to blow up that second plant?

The sword is in his house. Switch to spirit mode or whatever, and go to the side of his house. There will be a place to dig under it. You’ll see sparkles in the area to dig under.

Sorry I forgot, there is 4 monkeys. Then you need to go to the broken bridge which was broken by the huge monkey, a while ago. Kill him to get the boomerang.

Yea that got me stuck for a bit too. There is another exploding plant higher up (where you saved one of the monkeys). Keep climbing a little higher. You need that chest too, cause there is part of a heart in it.

To get the fourth monkey, I’ll assume which one you missed. In the room where you have to throw bombs in those mushroom things, there is a boulder in front of a door. It’s right by the first mushroom you had to blow up. You need to throw a bomb at that boulder. It takes a couple tries, but it’s easy. Once in that room roll into one of the pillars to get the chest which has the key in it. Swim across the river, and avoide the floor tiles that jump or w/e. Light the two torches with your lantern, and then get all four and go to the broken bridge ;)

Go back to the center room, and choose the room with the water. Hop accross those pillars, and go straight into the text room. I forget exactly how to get accross there, but it’s fairless obvious. Something with the boomerang I think. You need to throw it at the posts ont he bridge to make it turn.
I have just entered Faron Woods trying to find the temple, and I have just learned my first defense skill from the Golden Wolf, however now I am stuck. I am only able to go as far as the end, where the giant spider web is, or to the lake with the purple fog and water. Please help!
OK, now I know I need my lantern to get rid of the cobweb, but my lantern is gone. I refilled it at Trills, but it is nowhere to be found. Am I stuck forever? I have been over every inch from the cobweb to the lake with the purple fog, but no lantern. Ugh!

Ok-I hate to be a complete moron but…….I’ve returned as the wolf ( yes, like the blonde that I am, I’m stuck at the beginning….)
and I have to sneak into the water wheel house to retrieve the sword, then the shield. I HAVE managed to achieve having the stuffing beaten out of me by a hawk though. That imp won’t help me jump, just very unhelpfully keeps telling me to just “sneak in”. I’m at a complete loss as to how to actually get IN the water wheel house, or on it-please help!

Go to the right side of the pillar the owl is on. Like a little further on the map. Around there the spirit will teleport you onto the roof or something. That’s waaaay back, but I think that’s how you do it.

hi, how r u, sorry but i’m stuck in the battle against zant, i don’t know how to hit him back at the very beginning when he starts throwing shadow balls at you, does someone knows what to do?
i am in the first temple and i saved all the monkeys and they made a big chain for me to swing across and open the big lock… but i don’t have the key, i think it is behind the gate that you open with the boomerang winds… however i tried every combination of blowing wind on the pillars to open the gate and it won’t go… please help

Yup, you’re correct. If you look on the floor in that area there is a Z on the floor. The light makes the pattern. You can hold down the boomerang button and then click “b” (I think. It’s the button on the nunchuk.) to target each of the pillars in their order. Then just let go of Z, and it’ll hit all four pillars.

When you get to the boss it’s pretty easy to beat. Pretty disappointing ;). When his head goes down you’ll need to chop off the thing that falls on the ground. (You’ll need to do it twice.)
Hey, Im in a part of the game where I am collecting the mirror shards and Im in the Zora’s domain catching these reekfish. But, I am completely stuck and lost because I have no idea what I am suppose to do next.

you need to go back to ordon and get the iron boots from the mayor, you’ll get them when you beat him in sumo wrestling… then go back to the gorons and where them and they can’t push you around…. however onto my question: IN THE GORON’S CAVE/MINE THERE IS THE SLIDING DOOR THING YOU OPEN BY PULLING THE CHAIN, BUT HOW DO YOU KEEP IT OPEN LONG ENOUGH TO GET THROUGH IT? I HAVE TRIED JUST ROLLING THROUGH IT AS FAST AS I CAN AFTER LETTING THE CHAIN GO BUT IT DOESN’T SEEM TO BE FAST ENOUGH

hi, I tried to throw the bomb spider to the rock, I assuming I need to throw it twice, I always out of time to do the second throw. any advice?

Use the boomerang to throw the bomb as well as pick it up.

Only one is in a building (or two but same house) you just have to look carefully around hte map, don’t know what else to tell you. Go over everywhere in spirit mode.

Stand on the ledge, throw it at the plant, and then throw it by hand at the rock. There is _plenty_ of time if you stand on the ledge.
ok im at the part wear your in the temple by the fordon forest.i dont know how to get across the bridge’s were one is verticle and the other one is horizantle.I cant get across the both whitout falling off down the canyone i try jumping of when the start moveing and everything i can think of so please e-mail me back for some thanks

i am having a really hard time with this part. I’m on the part where you have to collect the light from the bugs in lake hylia. Its the third time you have to “free a place from twilight”. well to get the last thing of light you have to defeat this giant flying bug in the middle of the lake. I keep on attacking him over and over then he lands in the water and keeps going. I must have been there for edleast an hour trying to beat this guy. please help me out.

you are supposed to go to the house where the cat lives and then you will be able to jump up onto the house behind the hawk. once you get up there you will see how to travel across to the same area as the hawk and then he will fly away and scare the guy away. then the girl will help oyu jump into the house from the water wheel
I just killed the plant that guards the key to the THIRD monkey’s cell. What is left of the plant (the throbbing plant mouth…thing) still has the key inside. My question is, HOW DO I GET THIS KEY? How do I get it out of the plant? I tried Z and attacking, what is wrong?

you need first to hit the head then you have to find a bomb bug and throw it into the plant.

You have to jump on top of the store shop building with Midna’s help and jump from the building to those platforms and sneak up behind the guy that way.

First, you have to go to the back of the house near the gate to your house. Then, midna will laugh so you have to press up. She will fly to the top of the house and you have to jump to her. then you can jump across the islands to his island and he will fall off. Then you canget the shield because the hawk will stop attacking you.

use the same move you use to attack the big black monsters to open up the portals. where you attack them all at once using the chick on your head. sorry I don’t know the names of everything. i hope that helps

i have three monkeys, and i am trying to blow up the rock which covers a hole wherei thinkl the 4th monley is. how do i blow up the rock ? i have tried throwing but cant reach it. i dont have the boomerang either? where is the boomerang? and how do i make the chest fall down from the spiders web ?

When it says fish on, you have to pull the remote up and hold it there. then it says that you caught a fish and says press A to let it go. Don’t press A. Press B and it will drop the fish on the ground. Then the cat will run to get it and you can follow it to the shop.
before entering the third light spirit cave i warped out to the top of zoras domain. Is there anyway back to lake hylia so I can get the tear jar cant find one.

go back to where you got the lantern from and a gate has opened. Go there then look for mass light and head in that direction
Im stuck at the part where ur trying to find the 4th monkey to get across the bridge i dont know where its at i checked everywhere. or how do u blow up the plant with the bomb spider
ive done all that and now ive got 2 monkeys its really hard when you find that door you open it then those moving bridges ones one way then the other how i get past

Where is the platform where you have to stand on????!!!???
hi to destroy the plants that spit you out you throw the other plant that explodes in it’s mouth. first you have to attack the plant and than pick it up and use as a bomb.
you can also use to blow up a blocked doorway. to save more monkies
ive done that but cant reach the blocked doorway with the spider bomb. ?

are you using the right spider bomb, collect the Bomb, run across the platform, jump the gap, then toss the Bomb at the boulder. Pass through the revealed door.
how do u jump with the bomb in ya hand??
you just run with it and you will jump over the gap and than toss it. make sure you are using the right spider bomb.
hey i need help finding the twilight mirror pieces…i go to the sacred grove…nothings there…i caught that reekfish but i dont know what i need to do with it,A.K.A its smell wont keep those dogs away…and finaly i dont know where to find the “heaven” piece. can any one help me plz? thanx
im using the one with the big gap. do you have to run the other way?? do u have to use the one thats at the higest point in the room or the other one??>
use the one before the big and gap and throw it. it should work. run with it and throw it.

hey u dont have to hit the A button to jump(if thats what ur trying to do) all u do is run up to it and it will automatically jump for u…good luck

Okay, so I’m just escaping Hyrule and got the sword and shield crap, but how do you get past the spider web in Faron Woods near the spirit monkey. I can’t use my lantern because I’m a wolf and can’t find a spot to dig. Can anyone help me?
headback into the woods, to the pond. Defeat the shadow creature there

Go around to the side of the house until you can jump to the imp and then go around and walk up to him and he will jump in the water and stop hitting you with that @!%# hawk.

if u dont know how to get on the house all you have to do is find the wheelbarrow and jump in that…then you can get on it…note thats not the only way up so dont worry if u cant get that to work

I’m trying to get into the goron mines, a big rock or something fell into the middle of the area and is lodged in the ground. When I climb up a rope ladder into a cave there is a large rock or something blocking the entrance. How do I move the rock. I also noticed some hawkgrass what is the connection? Please help

You have to smack a goron once with your sword. it will get into a ball..that is when you quickly get onto it’s back and then it will shoot you up to the next level. There is going to be a ledge where the steam won’t let you pass…use your shield facing the steam and move into the steam once it hits you roll to the left quickly.

there are quite a few more monkeys that you need to find. as long as you have the boomerang though you might as well get the dungeon key. it’s behind the gate with the 4 windmills in front. you will need to throw the boomerang by targeting the windmills with Z in a certain order. have fun trying to find the right combination :)

once you reach the purple fog….go all the way to the left til you reach the rock wall. there is a spot where Midna can get you across.

There is a little tunnel to the right side of the wooded area that you can crawl through before you get to the gate to the mystical spring.

Yes that is in death mountain. You just need to time it right. You can watch the fire geysers through the screen you are pulling the wall back. They all go up and down in sync so once you see them start to go down…let go of the chain and run/jump like crazy through the open doorway.

Did you ever cross the fog with the little girl monkey? The little girl monkey drops your lantern after you get to the clearing. If you rush past her though before she gets to the clearing it is quite possible to leave her behind with your lantern.
in the dungeon there is a place were you have to get through a gate with windmills on it but it says look for a clue of how to get through the gate well ive tried n tried but dont know what to do, please can you help

you have to target each mill in a certain combination with the boomerang. just go through the different combos til you find the right one.

assign a number to each mill and alternate which mill will be #1 after you go through a cycle. you’ll eventually hit the right combo.
hey i’m in the desert land and i went into the prison or something, the place with all the monsters in it. I know how to get the key from the one monster and how to get through the door to meet the large boss monster who has an axe.
problem is, i can’t seem to beat him, and once he hits me i die.

So I’ve read through everyones comments, and I can’t find a solution to my problem. Being a total ditz at video games, I’m stuck on getting the fourth monkey. I’ve lit the two lanterns, and i can see him just through the bars! But the ‘check’ option never shows up. I’ve searched high and low for the stupid key that i’m obvisouly missing, but I can’t find it. Am I doing something wrong?

Is he in a cage? If so swing the sword at the cage. If he’s on top of a poll, roll into the poll to knock the cage over. If the cage is suspended from a spider web, use the boomerang to knock it down. If none of those, be a bit more specific or take a picture :). You seem to be around this area.
hey i am stuck in the part where u have to get the tears of light the second time and the last one u find in the hotel is supposed to be upstairs but it is not up there i don’t know what to do i something wrong because i have 15 tears and my map says the last one is in the hotel but i cant find it?

hey.. i’m in the water temple, and i’ve opened one room that has three hanging discs (which i can’t reach) in it, in which i found a key, and so i opened up another room, which has a really high wall and two gates in it, both of which are shut. i can’t figure out how to get any farther… please, please help me…

You’ve got to charge at him and then hit him with arrows at the head, your sword wont do a thing. The trouble would be timing, but that’s how i did it.
i need the boomerrang and i just cant find it i have 3 monkyes and my friend sayes that its hagin on a wall in the room before the borcan bridge and i think thats true where is the boomerang!!!!
I’m pretty early in the game… and I have not seen anyone else ask about this so I’m guessing I’m just terrible… I just got out of the caves and I’m at the forest where you need a key to open the gate… I’m guessing the key is across those 2 pillars… my problem is I jump to the first… and make it there maybe 1 out of every 5 times I try… but then when I line up to jump to the second pillar I run and jump but he always seems to overjump it and fall back down to ground level. I’ve tried to do it softer but then he does the fall off and grab onto the ledge thing.
Any suggestions?
nevermind…. it wasnt up there at all GRRRRRRRR… after about 40 mins of trying to get across those dang pillars there was absolutely nothing over there… then i went where i thought i had been already and it was right there LOL

nope, regular arrows will do it, just chrge with epona at him, like you were going to atack him with your sword but instead, wait for the right moment and shoot him at the face, you need to hit him 3 times

okay, I have just defeated the 2nd dungeon and I’ve crossed the bridge, which is then blown up in the middle, and then beat the three uh… tentacle screaming monsters, opening a portal that I can’t access and I’m trapped in this space by darkness. Now I can’t figure out what the heck to do, I’ve been wandering around the area for hours on horseback and off, shot all my arrows at what seemed to be glowing things on the side of the mountain and tried to bomb some suspcious rocks. Nothing! Any advice on advancing would be appreciated!
