OpenSourceHere is a small list of things I've found interesting this week, but don't require a whole post about each one of them. Out of all of these I would suggest you try BackTrack beta. It's a very nice Linux distro for security analysis. It comes with all the tools you need to do any security penetration testing.

Some websites containing free applications

Freeware OS X - List of free applications for Mac OS X
Portable Apps - Everyday applications to use on a USB thumb drive
Tiny Apps - Tons of freeware applications
Audio CD Cloner - Free media conversion tools

Newly released versions of software

m0n0wall beta - Turn a PC into a router or a firewall with Linux.
BackTrack 2 beta - Linux distro for security analysis. Great for war driving.
Opera 9.10 - Web Browser
Firefox 1.5.0.9 and 2.0.0.1 - Web Browser
ThunderBird 1.5.0.9 - Email Client

Other

Worlds Smallest Malware - 210 Bytes and able to download files off a remote web server.
