It has been a while since anyone has posted anything in here, so I thought I would spark up the conversation again. EBgames is showing release date of November 1st. While Amazon is showing November 15th. Where would be the best place to get your preorder in? I am just curious as to who thinks they will get theirs first. LOL
Peace,
Cruce

Wadda buncha crap:

May 01 2007 = 01 May 2007 = 2007 May 01 = 01 2007 May = 2007 01 May = 01 May 20007

But 05/07/01 05/01/07 01/05/07 01/07/05 07/01/05 07/05/01 are all different.
In US, the IDTF is MM/DD/YYYY
In UK, the IDTF is DD/MM/YYYY

Obviously it needs to be pointed out, that DD is the day, MM is the Month, and YYYY is the year

However, any PC can set this to any format you desire... I have seen is setup as YYYY/MM/DD even FFS!

All it takes it a small ammount of common sense to realise the date of any number no matter what country the website is in and what country you are looking at it from.
End of the day, UT2K3/4 ran fine on surprisingly humble low end systems, even an MX440 is capable of running the game just fine... Yes, low end settings I know, but it does it.

It will be the same with this game.

Its the same with every game. Its always the same with every game.... End of the day, if you can play games on your PC, then you will be able to play the next gen games no matter what.

The only limit you iwll have, is whether you can keep your 1600x1200 FSAA/AS and still have 500FPS!!!

Yeah, UT2007 got renamed to UT3 because it wasn't really a 2007 release as they'd promised.

And Crysis isn't out yet, when it is, i'll be getting it for sure. I don't want it to run like butter; it'll fry my computer and make it smell like popcorn. ;D

No, it's the same game. Instead of UT07, it's going to be called U3.

If its any consolation to you guys, I pre-ordered UT2007 back in October 2005 when I first saw it was being done....

I was told back then that its release date was sept 06... Imagine how chuffed I was that I only had to wait a year.

The last couple of months were hell.
The last couple of weeks were unbearable
The last few days were like being married
They came and they went but no disk?
I checked up on the site and it had been put back to march, and then may???

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

Trust me lads... Ive been waiting over a year , closer to 2 by the time it comes.

You have it easy!

Consider that the unreal engine supports more features than are implemented in a single game. For example--stencle shadowing vs. volume shadowing.

It would only point out the simplicity of your understanding to claim UT2007 performance figures based on other games utilizing the Unreal Engine 3. Furthermore--and similarly to Half-Life 2--Unreal Tournament 2007 will scale to many hardware configurations. Some will undoutably outdo even the powerhouse ps3, others will run reduced resolution (screen and texture)--probably with reduced complexity to the lighting and shadowing.

Ultimately it can be assumed that if you are not running a powerfull computer (geforece 7 series or higher -- dual core cpu -- 1-2 GB ram), you will not have the same eye candy options without a performance handicap.

Bottom line. PC /= console. A console is simply a customized computer that is never more powerfull than tecnology permits, and cannot be upgraded as technology advances. If you feel that a console is the more ideal solution for yourself, don't critisize it's roots. And all you hardcore PC enthusiasts--Not everyone enjoys the freedom, flexibility, expandability and functionality--within and beyond gaming--that a PC offers. Some people would rather have an affordable hastle-free gaming experience that doesn't require any higher level thinking (and I think we can agree that is what gaming is really all about).

And in short...Cant we all just get along?

So... tell me again why you guys are fighting over how well what hardware will be able to run a game that's not out yet and probably not even finished?

Why would you want 16x antialiasing? You almost can't tell the difference when it's blown up to 10x normal size so unless you have a 30" screen at that resolution you're just wasting processing power.

Considering it's running on the Unreal 3 Engine it will probably require even more power than dual 8800gtx's to max out but that's just how it is with new engines. Only way to know for sure is to wait and find out, yelling what you think at each other doesn't solve anything.

Btw, Vegas runs on the exact same engine so I don't know where you randomly got the "5 times harder than in vegas" idea, it may be affected by what the engine is displaying but that still doesn't make your comment make any sense.

Quote from beyondunreal "Published by Midway Games, UT3 is powered by Epic's new Unreal Engine 3, and is due to be released on PC and PlayStation 3 in the second quarter (April-June) of 2007."

Agree that Max settings and max settings are quite different depending on player and/or usage.

I gather nobody got a copy of UT2007 due to the missing posts. So May 2007 is still just a retailer guess, or?
