Firefox Extension: XGL Effect When You Switch Between Tabs

If you like the XGL feel, but still use Windows, you might be interested in this new Firefox extension. When switching tabs it gives you an XGL look and feel. Keep in mind you can’t manually rotate the cube like XGL, and it does not give you multiple desktops. It’s simply a novelty. When you switch tabs, it will dull one tab, and then rotate it giving you an XGL effect.

Because it is so new there are of course a few bugs; hence the downsides. Sometimes while typing a new address it puts your history in the top left of the screen. When you click the up arrow to try and navigate to a previously used address, it doesn’t work. An example of this issue can be seen in the image below.

Along with that minor bug it uses DirectX. Yes, that means it doesn’t work on Linux. Once this project matures a bit, I’d be glad to use it.
