Firefox Extension: Save Website As An Image
January 21st, 2007 - By: Alex Bailey
Firefox by default offers to save web pages as text, HTML, or HTML with images. Sometimes these aren't viable options. SaveAsImage saves the entire webpage in to a high quality image. If you have a page full of hundreds of lines or comments the screen shot will keep getting bigger. Saving my homepage as an image shows the current five posts. This tool is very neat for people looking to find bugs in websites they're building. Just recently I had to print out a ticket for an event I'm going to, so I saved the page as HTML with images. This definitely would have been the perfect solution.
At the moment there aren't many configuration options. Basically right now you can only choose where you want the "Save as image" text to be displayed in Firefox.
When you choose to save you can then choose the quality/compression of the image, along with the format; JPG or PNG. It displays a preview in a box, and allows you to save different parts of it instead of the whole thing.
Currently the preview box is very small, and can't be resized at all. It should also be noted this extension does not, and will not support flash or shockwave. That makes sense in a way, because Firefox doesn't natively support it without extensions. I think overall it's pretty nice but lacks basic configuration. There should be an option to set the default compression, size, destination, and an option to add it to a tool bar.

Great description, but it took me forever to actually find it in the web.
So others don’t have so much trouble, here’s the URL for the extension:

“Save As Image” by Rowan Lewis
It creates a right-click/context menu item. Just right click on the webpage in question
