After a few months of testing some different Adsense formats, Google has finally chosen a new interface for certain Adsense units. I've been seeing random ones for the last few weeks on my ads, but now they're all going to be the same format.

In their official post, they claim that these will perform better for publishers and advertisers alike.

After extensive testing and research, we've found that the new formats are not only visually appealing to users, but they also perform even better for publishers and advertisers.

To me, it looks very sleek. However they don't blend as well as the old ads did. The larger sizes look good in this format, but the quarter banner seems to look out of place.

I prefer my contextual ads to to be...well text, not have Google's logo on it. I don't see how making the ad stand out like that could possibly help a publishers CTR, but I assume they've done their homework :)

Along with their new Adsense format, they've updated their sponsor link color on their search engine results. Going from a light blue, they've moved to a yellow back ground color.

Apparently this has been going on for about a week in the U.K, but the first I saw of this in the U.S was recently. I think it's a pretty good change. It makes the ads more visible to a user. Blue on blue was seemingly not the best way to attract visitors.
